Rajesh Gandhi started his career in the diamond industry shortly after completing his secondary education in Mumbai, India. His early experience as an apprentice in diamond manufacturing units in Mumbai and Surat provided him with a solid foundation for his future. After his apprenticeship, Rajesh gained invaluable knowledge alongside his father in the family’s diamond business. Rajesh quickly grasped the required business acumen over a period of 18 months and his ambitions led him to Antwerp to start his own business, at which time he founded the Choron Group in 1985. Rajesh has since devoted his professional career to establishing Choron as a leading international diamond player. Today, Choron is a trusted and respected diamond house with global operations and sales of over USD$300 million per annum. Rajesh is responsible for the major strategic business decisions and credit management across the Group.
Rajesh is a passionate and active philanthropist with a focus on supporting communities, education initiatives and cultural causes. His donations have supported various charitable organizations in addition to numerous direct affiliations with individuals and families.
Rajesh is a member of the Beurs voor Diamanthandel, Antwerpsche Diamantkring, Dubai Diamond Exchange and the Bharat Diamond Bourse.
